Schedule Service

We recommend servicing your car every 10,000 miles or annually. If you have reached this important milestone where you surpass 60,000 miles or 6 years with your car, chances are you have taken our advice!  A 60,000-mile service will assure you that your car’s oil is fresh and clean, making sure your car continues to run smoothly. Our Technicians will also recommend anything additional that needs repair at this time.

Required Service Work

  • Engine – oil and filter change
  • Check catch, safety catch and hinges on engine hood for proper operation
  • Check condition of poly-V-belt (except ML 450 Hybrid and S 400 Hybrid)
  • Replace V-belt(s) (only ML 450 Hybrid and S 400 Hybrid)
  • Replace fuel filter
  • Replace fuel filter (engine 642)
  • Clean water drain in air/water duct
  • AdBlue® evacuate and fill up (engine 642)
  • Reset maintenance service indicator in instrument cluster
  • Replace brake fluid
  • Replace combination or dust filter
  • Check thickness of brake pads, front and rear
  • Check thickness, condition of front and rear brake pads and discs
  • Correct tire inflation pressure
  • Correct inflation pressure in spare tire (where applicable)
  • Leakage – Major components Check for chafe marks, line routing, damaged components. In the event of leakage, determine cause
  • Check AdBlue® lines and components for leaks and damage (engine 642)
  • “Visually inspect condition of front
  • axle ball joints, rubber boots”
  • Visually inspect condition of rear axle ball joints, rubber boots
  • Visually inspect condition of driveshaft flexible discs
  • Visually inspect condition of steering mechanical components, rubber boots
  • Visually inspect propeller shafts, universal joints and collapsible sections
  • Bolts attaching steering (check/ tighten)
  • Joint housing of AWD front axle – inspect grease packing and correct
  • Replace coolant for main circuit (engine 275)
  • Replace air filter (engine 275)
  • Replace spark plugs (except engine 642)

Check the following fluid levels, correct if necessary (recommended)

  • Check coolant level
  • Brake system
  • Power steering
  • Windshield washer system
  • Active Body Control (if applicable)
  • Differential lock mechanism fluid reservoir
  • Transfer case
  • Front axle
  • Rear axle

Function check (recommended)

  • Check parking brake (function test only)
  • Audible warning system (Electrichydraulic brake system)
  • Check Electric-hydraulic brake system hydraulic unit
  • Differential/transfer case lock mechanisms (front, rear and center)
  • Replace wiper blades

Electrical system checks (recommended)

  • Horn, high beam flasher, hazard warning flasher, turn signals
  • Warning/indicator lamps, illumination and interior lighting/ exterior lighting
  • Check trunk/cargo area lighting
  • Check and correct headlamp setting
  • Battery (main/starter/auxiliary) check condition using “Midtronics MCR 717” tester

Visual & Function Check (recommended)

  • Check seat belts and buckles for signs of external damage and proper function
  • Check windshield washer and headlamp cleaning system
  • Check, clean and lubricate tilt/ sliding roof mechanism (where applicable)
  • Check, clean and lubricate panoramic roof mechanism (where applicable)
  • Clean and lubricate soft top/ retractable hard top seals
  • Check bodywork for paint work damage
  • Night View Assist® camera – clean windshield behind the camera cover (where applicable)
  • Lubricate door locks, including rear door

Tire Check (recommended)

  • Tire rotation (where applicable)
  • Inspect tires for damage, measure tread depth
  • Check TIREFIT sealant expiration date (where applicable)
  • Activate Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Chassis check (recommended)

  • Visually check brake system components, lines, hoses, calipers
  • Check thickness of brake pads and disks, front and rear wheels removed
  • Chassis and load-bearing body components: Check for damage and corrosion
